France 13 – 62 New Zealand

And that, my friends, is how you play rugby.

With intent, skill, precision and nous. From 1 to 23. For 80 minutes.

An extraordinary performance, perhaps the single most dominant game ever in Rugby World Cup history.

Yes, we now know definitively this was a very flawed French side. So we don’t quite know what sort of measuring stick this was. But here’s the thing: Shag & Co unpicked the flaws.  They figured it, and then the players executed it. Brilliantly.

Enjoy this one. Celebrate it.

Because in two days time, we start picking up the anxious again.

About Ned Davy

By hokey, the big fella’s tipped into his 50s. A rangy loose forward in his prime, good with the ball in hand, but rarely up with the play any more.

    Brilliant game. Pace. Forwards everywhere.

Watched with son. Wasn’t allowed to jump about, rant, rave, scream as per usual. In my own home ! BUT, we won, so that’s very very ok. Richie looked wiped, Dan looked extremely happy. Julian was Jonah incarnate.

  3. MJ says:

    Brilliant game.

Glad it was on Prime. A different experience from listening on the radio.
